Hello! If you’re reading this that means you might have signed up to my newsletter. Firstly I want to say thank you for signing up. I know it can become fatiguing constantly receiving updates and new information, so I’m going to try and keep these short and sweet.

I’m releasing my single, Dog Body, next week on the 24th of September, beginning a new chapter of my music-releasing-journey. I won’t be talking solely about music, shows or promotional things on here. I’m going to try and keep it varied and personal to what’s going on and what I feel like writing about. Thank you again for joining me on this new fun (yay) way of keeping connected to you guys. I’m looking forward to the conversations and updates to come!

Song of the moment: Shut Up Kiss Me, Angel Olsen

Pic of the moment: Me, covered in blood in North Acton - music video incoming.

Q/A “What weird thought did you have recently?”:

Last week I was coming home late in an Uber. I yawned and a shiver followed. I started thinking about how comforting I find it when my body does things without telling it to. It makes me feel like a lizard or somehow connected to my great great great great great jurassic ancestor. I think of all the millions of years worth of evolution and how I’m left with these fragmented biological reactions. I like that sometimes my body takes control and does things without checking first. That’s not to say I enjoy throwing up or violent diarrhoea, but I do find it makes me feel like I belong. In a world where I’m constantly worried if I’m doing the right thing, it’s a reminder that my body doesn’t question whether it deserves to be here or not.

Over and Out,

Sophie M <3
