Hello all, I hope you’ve been enjoying listening to Another Song For The End Of The World :) I’ve loved all your kind messages and appreciation for the song. I’m also incredibly excited to have announced my debut album Stars And Teeth (which will be yours on the 16th of March). I know there’s a little wait but I promise there’ll be some more music coming to hold you over until then.

You may have heard as I’ve been not-so-subtly screaming about it online that my upcoming headline show will be taking place NEXT WEEK AHHH. In case you missed the details, I’ll be performing at Earth, Hackney on Friday the 5th of December (did I mention this is NEXT WEEK?). What to expect: new songs, new merch, new band (kind of) and a whole sparkly new array of music for your delectation. SO your job is to bring along your family/friends/dogs/exotic birds/favourite person/3rd cousin…or take a leap and come alone! I’m going to make it the best show yet and I cannot WAIT to see you there.

Q/A “What was your dream as a little girl?”

I’ve been told that when I was small, my ideal future as a grown-up was to own a farm with lots of animals while making a living selling the paintings I’d created. I’m not sure if that was a real dream of mine, or if it sounded like a nice idea of what an adult-me might want. I grew up with grandparents that were painters. I have many memories of visiting their magical home which balanced an interior of slightly dusty worldly artefacts, while somehow remaining warm in a kind of fairy tale way. I think this idea of a painter sunk into my psyche. At the same time I remember being truly obsessed with the act of milking a cow. I think the concept of an udder fascinated me. Bodily functions in general seemed to have had a grip on my imagination. My mum has told me many times growing up that there was a year where all I wanted was a doll that could pee real pee…My vision of being a solo farmer woman selling artwork for a living doesn’t sound too bad now. Even if my innocent child-brain thought being a painter/farmer was what most adults did for a living any sensible grown-up would want. I like the idea that this version of me exists somewhere deep in the childhood-memory-storage-section of my mind. If all my adult dreams go south I know I can always fall back on the original plan, and transform into the fully formed farmer painter I was always meant to be.

P.S. I’m going to be selling one of my ‘Fully Conscious Star’ drawings at my show. It won’t be on display so when I go to merch table after my set you’ll have to ask me for it then. First come first served!

See you at the show!
